Scientists across all disciplines now agree that the Earth is a living organism, a life source not a resource. She is experiencing a life-threatening assault by industrialized forces. That’s trauma. We, as part of her biosphere, experience this trauma personally, causing us to exhibit fight, flight and fright responses. Why label this euphemistically as “anxiety”? IT IS TRAUMA. Call it biospheric trauma, call it Gaia trauma, call it collective trauma.
